Sarah Palin's lack of ability to understand what she reads became apparent this weekend when she managed to thoroughly misunderstand the finding against her in the Troopergate probe. She told some Alaska reporters, via phone, that she is "very much appreciating being cleared of any legal wrongdoing or unethical activity at all." However, the report's first finding stated that Governor Palin "abused her power by violating Section 39.52.119(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act," which is worded as follows:

The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."

Oddly, she also claimed that the investigation was a "partisan circus," although the legislative committee who conducted it consists of  6 Republicans and 2 Democrats.

If you're in the mood for an Emporor's New Clothes kind of moment, listen to the audio of her interview with Alaska reporters in which she appears completely oblivious not only to the content of the report, but to the actual questions asked by the reporters.
