OLYMPIA- Across the nation people are honoring the victims, volunteers and heroes of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack by making the day a day of service. They are volunteering at local nonprofits or making donations to causes they care about and spreading the word through to friends and families to participate as well.

A volunteer-matching database allows potential volunteers to choose where they invest their valuable time based on interests, talents and availability.

The Volunteer Center is a nonprofit organization which recruits and refers volunteers for nonprofit and public agencies, provides volunteer management training and consulting to these agencies and promotes volunteerism as a community value.
