Dear Olyblog Community,

I’m happy to announce that registration is now open for the FIRST ANNUAL series of Youth Video Camps, brought to you by Thurston Community Television/YAYA Media with support from the City of Olympia’s Youth Partnership Program.

If you have (or know) children, youths or teens between the ages of 8 and 16 we have a camp for them! No experience or TCTV membership required. Please read on, or open the flyer for more information. Slots will fill up fast so early registration is highly recommended. To receive a registration packet please send me your mailing address along with the number and ages of youths you want to register.

Youth at the camps will learn basic audio and video production and choose from experiential learning opportunities in documentary video making, studio production, acting, set-design, puppetry and more.

Schedule: Camps are scheduled for week-long sessions in June, July and August. Session one will run from June 23^rd through 27th for ages 8-10. Session two will run July 21^st through July 25^th for ages 10-12. Finally, in August a special two week session for teens ages 13-16 will include an advanced TV Studio practicum for youths to develop and produce their very own TV Show. The teen session runs August 4^th through 8^th /August 11th through 15^th. Teens must sign up for the entire two-week session.

All camps are from 1 pm to 5 pm with a special family screening the final Friday from 5 pm to 6 pm.

Registration and Fees: Thanks to funding provided by the City of Olympia’s Youth Partnership Program, TCTV is offering these camps for a nominal fee of $75 per week. Registration begins now for all camp sessions. A limited number of scholarships are available.
