I started a new thread out of fear any posting I made would get lost in the volumes under your original post HERE.

I would like to thank you for all your hard work and dedication and ability to respond to all the negativity and opposition with dignity and respect.  Some posts directed at you seem as if to be cornering you in hopes of changing your mind or making you a fool but you are able to escape with your stance intact!

I agree in the opinions of and would like to join OLY 2012 in their efforts to improve downtown and promote growth.

Again, thank you for speaking for those of us who agree with the stance and opinions of Oly 2012 and feel we don't have a voice or fear reprisal.

For those of you who disagree with OLY 2012 and my opinion, please show the same respect and dignity Peter has in any responses you may have here.

Yeah, Thanks to Peter

Thanks for the efforts, even though we might disagree on some of the most basic aspects of the issue. I think, though it may be difficult, this type of dialogue can service the cause of increasing community understanding and participation.

Sometimes a little provocation is just what the doctor ordered. Get's people up on the balls of their feet, gets people thinking and feeling about issues that really matter to all of us.

It's okay if we disagree, as long as we are working toward understanding and learning, and growing and developing as individuals as a result...

Growth Hurts

Growth doesn't necessarily hurt - but it often times can. I remember the pains of growing as a young person. Like the time during which I grew several inches in one year during adolescence... Growth can hurt, whether it is as a society, as an individual, or as an economy.

Maybe we can find ways to grow that won't hurt (or at least don't hurt as much, or more than they have to.) Listening to each other is an important part of that process.

No thanks

My only exposure to Oly 2012 was at the city council meeting last night. Frankly, I was not impressed with anything its members had to say. I seriously doubt that any of those people actually LIVE downtown like I do. I also doubt they'd be so eager to impose all this "growth" on everyone if they had to listen to pile drivers all day long so that millionaires could ruin THEIR neighborhoods.
