I read Norm's review of the Shanghai restaurant over the weekend, and thought, mmm, that sounds tasty. :)

Then I remembered that I had a lunch scheduled with some folks at work, and somebody was asking for suggestions. Shockingly, I remembered on Monday to make the suggestion, and that's where we went.

And it was a HUGE hit. Everybody had the buffet, and everybody was happy. We will definitely be going back. (And I'll be going back with chad360 sooner rather than later.)

BTW: I said that I'd read a review, and somebody asked if the reviewer had stars, forks, etc. for a rating system. I had to say that it was "some guy with a blog" :) and thus, no rating system, just a recommendation. Should we invent an OlyBlog restaurant rating system?

We definitely should have a unique rating system.

Maybe one through ten oysters?

Or domes, like a silhouette of the capital dome?

Or maybe an annual "Best of"

Or maybe an annual "Best of" list as favored by OlyBloggers. The categories might be fun to invent: e.g., Restaurant with the most dried gum under the tables ...

How about

Sasquatch's footrpints?  The more footprints, the higher the rating...  Okay, I'm looking at the Gnome logo as I write this...
