Not appropriate

Calling someone a modern day nazi is not appropriate at all. I think an apology is in order.
»

retrospectively,

you're right. my apologies to olyblog.

Could you list some of the elected officials that plan to attend

I'm considering a run at office as an Independent and would be interested in attending such an event if the more moderate side of the Thurston County Republicans are being represented.

This is news

How much more of your plans are you willing to share, Larry? I would understand if you  answered, "None," but I find an independent run to be very interesting. Keep us posted.

Larry, The only definite

Larry,
The only definite that I know of is Dino Rossi. I don't know who the others will be

As I thought

The moderates are probably staying clear.  They want to get re-elected.

I see a need in my district, Steven

Gary Alexander (R) is a fine representative.  I recently had the pleasure of lunch with Alexander and Democrat Sam Hunt, both of whom I respect and admire.  I also find a lot of common ground with Sam Reed (R).

I'm concerned that our district is represented by Richard DeBolt (R) of Lewis County.  It's not so much the (R) or Lewis County as it is that he appears to represent his employer (TransAlta) before his constituents.  He is responsible for Legislation to get tax relief for TransAlta and then, last year, was mysteriously missing in action, when TransAlta fired 600 employees to rail coal in from out of the country.

Considering that our district is represented by three Republicans, I think an Independent candidacy is the way to go.  In most cases, I'm a moderate to either side and feel very comfortable calling myself Independent.

Through my business dealings, I know Lee Grose (R) Lewis County Commissioner (also an old friend) and have met the Lewis County Republican Chair, whose name escapes me at the moment.  Both are level headed, constituent minded and realize that partisanship doesn't get the real job done.

Not to be a parrot, but I think politics needs a change.

By the way, I did inhale......a lot.

It's all about "change" these days Larry

...and being just like Ronald Reagan. Well, it is if your running for the Republican Presidencial candidacy. Perhaps you can be the next Dan Evans. Now there was a Republican I could always vote for!
