Observers are seeing military vehicles (some with fuel tanks towed) going into the port this morning. That's not likely to be anything other than fuel for Stryker vehicles to move out under their own power in convoys, much like we saw a week ago (Wednesday night) from 9PM until 3:30AM Thursday. Except this time, there are about 60-80 vehicles left in the Marine Terminal and they would be able to move out in about 5-7 convoys (around two or three per hour). We are not sure how long they take to fuel up, but we will be watching them and hope to predict movements with more precision.

Bus full of drivers came into the Port.

We should see movement within the hour.

Human Blockades went up around 9AM

Stryker vehicles on flatbed trucks were blocked beginning about 45 minutes ago; Marine Drive and Franklin Street are both held. Police are absent.
»

Human Blockades are still holding - no police response yet.

The Olympian reporter on the scene reportedly said they "would not try to move military cargo today." We already saw 2 humvees on a flatbed tailer, and four towed power units go out on a second trailer, and two Strykers try to get out - so we're skeptical. And we need more people, of course. The callout stands.

I left the Port at 11:30 this morning

Blockaders had peacefully prevented a flatbed loaded with military vehicles from exiting the port. The protesters were standing aside to allow civilian vehicles to come and go. The police were not present.

Glad to hear there is no violence

the truckers are respecting the blockade and the protesters are respecting the right of passage of civilian traffic.

Final Report / bare bones

USNS Brittin arrived on Monday, November 5th (Guy Fawkes Day)
USNS Brittin unloads, November 6th and 7th.
First two arrests (for Pedestrian Interference) Wednesday night, November 7th and early the next morning as the first few convoys of Stryker vehicles drive off the Port under their own power.
USNS Brittin leaves at 2:22PM November 8th. Later that night, a longshore worker from Tacoma is arrested for trespass; charges were dismissed later in the month.
Friday, November 9th at 3PM, a group of persons in the crosswalk at Market and Franklin are pushed by a semi-trailer truck carrying a Stryker vehicle on a "low boy" flatbed trailer. The driver, "Bill," is placed under citizens arrest for vehicular assault. He does not cooperate with the arrest; nor does the Olympia PD. For the next 17 hours the people of Olympia control all military hardware in and out of the Port of Olympia.
Saturday morning, November 10th. Olympia Police arrive in force, and without making any arrests pepper spray (OC) and baton shove everyone in range. Their spray affects Olympian Photographer Tony O. PMR Medics treat Tony for OC exposure. Later that same day, other actions (street blockades) are broken up with several arrests.
Tuesday, November 13th the Womens' Caucus of PMR requests that the men in PMR support their direct action as they sit in the road in front of the Franklin Street gate. Despite high tensions, the first hour of the arrests goes as expected. Then a convoy of Stryker vehicles passes down Marine drive (out of the North Point gate) and a crowd of people surges toward the road. Police open fire with explosives and rubber ball grenades. Windows in a police car and at a downtown bank branch are smashed in the aftermath. Stryker convoys surge down several Olympia streets, changing routes at random.
(big gap here)
The final convoy leaves the Port of Olympia by train on Wednesday November 28th at 3PM.
Security Services Northwest, a mercenary security company with armed guards who look more like soldiers, were at the Port of Olympia from Saturday November 3rd through Wednesday November 28th. How much did the Port of Olympia pay them? Or did Homesec take up the collection? Will they tell us? Find out next month (of the one after that) on: Washington State Open Records Act! Fun for the whole family (except the dog, who is preliterate).
