Olympia Weekend Permaculture Design Course
facilitated by Marisha Auerbach and friends
Autumn, beginning weekend of September 14, six weekends through November
Fertile Ground Community Center and other locations to be announced....
311 9th Ave Se, downtown, Olympia, WA

Attendance to all weekends of this course qualifies participants for a permaculture design certificate.

Permaculture is an exploration of how humans can
exist on this planet and support their needs
indefinately and without harm. The intention for
this course is to facilitate a systems approach to
thinking about different issues, encouraging care for
the earth and its inhabitants as a diverse community.
This course will provide a comprehensive overview of
permaculture techniques and strategies that one
could incorporate into their everyday life, or enhance
their career. There will be suggested readings and we
will visit and network with others locally using
permaculture principles in their lives and careers.

Topics include:
* Permaculture ethics & principles * patterning
* design & observation * agroforestry
* edible landscaping * natural building
* forestry * nutrient cycling * ethnobotany
* soil * guilds * water * bioregionalism/localism
* urban permaculture * appropriate technology
* energy conservation * animal husbandry
* seed saving * pest control * organic gardening
* restoration * microclimates * economies

The tutiton for this course is $700 - $600 sliding
scale. We are open to work/trade possibilities.
