I have been in Olympia about three years now, and the longer I am here the more I ask myself why are the people in Oly so mad. What I mean by mad is, they seem pissed off at everything, epically for being so progressive. I have lived in a number of places and worked with a lot of people trying to make change. For the most part instead of being angry at what was going on, they were excited about the change they were working for and where things were going. Is it the weather that pisses people off or is it something else. I know not everyone is angry here, but a lot of people-both conservative and liberal-are. Lets stop looking for the negativity and start looking for the good. It might even help to being different groups of people together to work for more over arching change.

With that said, have a great week and keep your smiles on:)

It's because

Angry Olympians are composed of all white-people.*

You are my Sunshine.

Lack of sunlight I think. I have lived here 4 years, still looking to meet happy people.

Happy people are everywhere

They are just out enjoying life instead of complaining on the webbe ;)

Who knows?

Maybe that is the problem, us transplants have a hard time "going out and enjoying" this damn rain. Every place I have ever lived I have been outdoors, winter sports, trail riding, fly fishing and so on. I still have issues with winter here and sadly I am a hermit in this rain.

I'm so happy...

if I died today, they'd have to cremate me because the permanently fixed smile on my face would be too damned hideous for an open casket funeral

Of course, they could bury me without a casket, face down, with my butt above ground so that evironmentally sensitve Olympian would have a place to park their bicycles.

Oh...and Norm, Gug, Rob and a few others could kiss me daily. (insert laugh track here)

With the position you're

With the position you're buried in, where exactly is the laugh track supposed to be inserted?

Hole in one?

I didn't really type that, did I?

How could I have

left Merwyn's name off that short list?

My 2 cents

I've found Olympians to be very friendly people and not angry in general. Where are you hanging out and what sort of people are you meeting?
»

I feel the same way

I've lived in eight different cities and have found Olympians to be extremely friendly. The only place I tend to run into cranky people is in the mall or Fred Meyer, which makes sense.
